Your storefront search box is the most honest feedback channel you have: customers type exactly what they are looking for. AI Search Insights captures every search query and — powered by AI — turns that raw data into clear, prioritised recommendations directly in the Shopware admin. No external analytics tool required.

The key difference from existing search-logging plugins: other plugins show you WHAT was searched (a raw list). AI Search Insights tells you WHAT TO DO about it — which product is missing, which synonym to add, or which product name matches the search better.

The AI analysis runs on the OpenAI API using your own API key, so you stay in full control of usage and cost, and only search terms are processed — never personal customer data.

❓ FAQ¶

What makes this plugin different from other search plugins?

Other plugins show a list of searched terms. AI Search Insights analyses those terms with AI, groups similar searches, prioritises them, and gives you concrete recommendations — for example "missing product", "add synonym" or "optimise product name".

Do I need an OpenAI API key?

Yes, for the AI-powered features (Starter and Business) you add your own OpenAI API key in the plugin configuration. The free version (search log, filters, CSV export) works without an API key.

What data is sent to the AI?

Only search terms are processed for the analysis. No personal customer data (names, e-mail addresses, orders) is sent to the OpenAI API.

What does the plugin cost?

The core feature set (search log, zero-results filter, sorting, retention, CSV export, per-sales-channel filter) is free. The AI features are available via optional monthly in-app purchases: Starter (€14.99/month) and Business (€29.99/month).

How often does the AI analysis run?

Weekly on the Starter tier and daily on Business. Results appear as recommendations in the admin.

Can I work through recommendations and track their status?

Yes. Each recommendation can be marked as open, done or ignored. The Business tier additionally offers a tracking dashboard.

Is old search data deleted automatically?

Yes. The retention period is configurable (30 / 60 / 90 days). Older entries are removed automatically.

🔧 Installation¶

Requirement: CNK Foundation plugin
Install via the Shopware Store
Install and activate the plugin in the Shopware Plugin Manager
Configure it in the administration area (see Configuration below)

⚙️ Configuration¶

Open Settings → Extensions → AI Search Insights:

OpenAI API key – your own API key for the AI analysis (required for Starter/Business only).
Retention period – how long search queries are stored: 30, 60 or 90 days.
Logging enabled – capturing of storefront searches can be turned on or off at any time.
Sales channel filter – analyses can be viewed per sales channel.

🧠 How the AI analysis works¶

Capture – The plugin logs every storefront search term with its hit count, timestamp and sales channel.
Cluster – The AI groups similar terms into one topic, e.g. "running shoes", "jogging shoes" and "sneakers" → one cluster.
Prioritise – Each cluster gets a priority score (frequency × zero-hit rate × trend).
Recommend – You receive concrete suggestions, e.g.:
- Add synonym: customers search X, your product is named Y.
- Missing product: X was searched 47 times, 0 results.
- Optimise product name: X matches better than the current title.
- Add category tag: X fits category Y.
